In partnership with engineering and construction firms specialised in port infrastructure, DEMSA is developing a new terminal at the Port of Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires province, on a 25-hectare site with river access.

The project builds on a deep understanding of Vale S.A.'s former Potasio Río Colorado project: DEMSA prepared the current preliminary design, and certain elements of those works are available for potential reuse. The first phase was designed around the site's conditions.

First phase

  • Grain reception system
  • Storage in two cells of 78,000 tonnes each
  • Conveyor loading system
  • Estimated annual capacity of approximately 1,800,000 tonnes
Preliminary terminal design: berth, loading system and storage area.
