The project covers the export, grinding and commercialisation of natural sodium bentonite from the Los Bisnietos deposit in Zapala, province of Neuquén, where DEMSA holds the concession over 27 hectares.
The selection and grinding plant is being developed inside the Zapala Free Trade Zone under an operations and production agreement. Since output is destined exclusively for export, the regime allows full tax exemption, which also covers the import of mining equipment: mills, steel structures, bagging plant and storage.
Grinding before shipping is the project's core decision: it adds value at origin instead of exporting raw ore. It builds on the export operation DEMSA already runs into Brazil and on the company's track record in industrial minerals since CMI.
