An integrated production, logistics and market system for industrial minerals and applied rocks, on own and third-party deposits.
CMI S.A. —Compañías Mineras Integradas— was founded in 2001 by the local entrepreneurs Ricardo Raúl Román, Alfredo Raúl Dematteis, Daniel Meilán and Jorge Romero Vagni, with extensive experience in the mining, financial and logistics sectors. CMI formed an integrated production, logistics and market system covering exploration and extraction of industrial minerals and applied rocks on own and third-party deposits, along with their processing, transport, storage, shipment and commercialisation for markets worldwide.
The deposits were located in the provinces of Chubut (Gaiman) and Neuquén (Añelo).
Minerals Ports S.A.
In July 2007, Minerals Ports S.A. was incorporated to provide port logistics services to the mining industry: storage, vessel loading and unloading, domestic and international road, rail and river-sea transport, import and export contracts and representations.
The DEMSA group
In October 2007, Desarrollo y Exploración Mineral S.A. was incorporated with shareholders from the Dematteis family, forming the DEMSA group. Its activity spans port infrastructure works, integrated logistics development, acquisition and extraction of industrial minerals, and the establishment of operating branches abroad. It holds the trademarks DEMSA Logística Integrada Asia Pacífico and DEMSA Mining Deal.
