CMI S.A. was founded in 2001 together with a group of local entrepreneurs with extensive experience in the mining and logistics sectors. CMI formed an integrated production, logistics and market system covering exploration and extraction of industrial minerals and applied rocks on own and third-party deposits, along with their processing, transport, storage, shipment and commercialisation for markets worldwide.
The bentonite and asphaltite deposits were located in the provinces of Chubut (Gaiman) and Neuquén (Añelo).
Minerals Ports S.A.
In July 2007, Minerals Ports S.A. was incorporated to provide port logistics services to the mining industry: storage, vessel loading and unloading, domestic and international road, rail and river-sea transport, import and export contracts and representations.
